APAR status

Error description

  • When the 7.1.3 IBM Spectrum Protect client (TSM client)
    is used in a currently-unsupported Windows 10
    environment with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) communication
    configured
    between the TSM Client and Server, all TSM Client operations
    terminate
    with the following error message:
    
    ANS1593E Cannot open the key database
    
    In the future, Windows 10 should be supported with
    this client using SSL.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem was due to a defect in the IBM GSKit level shipped
    with IBM Spectrum Protect client that prevented the keystore to
    be opened on Windows 10. IBM GSKit has fixed the problem and the
    IBM Spectrum Protect client has been updated with the IBM GSKit
    version that contains the fix.
