IT10794: DMPMQMSG FAILS WHEN LOADING MESSAGES WITH SPECIAL CHARACTERS OR DOUBLE QUOTE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The dmpmqmsg utility crashes when loading messages with special
  characters or
  double quotes.
  
  A core on UNIX or a dump file on Windows will be generated.
  
  This problem occurs only when loading the message file created
  using -dA option and the message contains special characters or
  double quotes.
  
  This problem likely to occur when the first character of the
  message
  is a special character or double quote but might also occur on
  other
  conditions when the message contains specific character or
  double quotes.
  
  
  Example:
  
  Message(including double quotes) : "TESTMSG"
  
  dmpmqmsg -i TEST.QL -dA -m QM1 -f testmsg1

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  A coding error within a length check routine caused the utility
  to crash when reading the message from the file.
  

Problem conclusion

• dmpmqmsg has been modified to fix the incorrect length check
  when reading the message from the file.
