APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments: Data
  Protection for VMware web interface (TsmVMwareUI) may not be
  available after the "Data Protection for VMware Web Server"
  service is restarted.  This restart could be triggered by a
  reboot of the system, upgrade, or some other source.  When the
  Websphere services are is restarted, null configuration data is
  passed causing the problem.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 7.11 and later on
  Windows and Linux
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  
  Attempts to access the web interface using either the stored URL
  or an icon will not connect.  The "Data Protection for VMware
  Web Server Service" is running, but netstat -a does not show
  anything listening on the assigned ports.  By default the ports
  are 9080 and 9081.
  
  Initial Impact: Medium
  
  Additional Keywords: Websphere service fails reboot restart

Local fix

• The following steps can be used to resolve this.
  
  1. Open the
  C:\IBM\tivoli\tsm\tdpvmware\webserver\usr\servers\veProfile\boot
  strap.properties file to view the eWAS port settings.
  
  2. Change the ports to two unused ports, for example:
  
  veProfile.http.port=9090
  veProfile.https.port=9091
  
  Then restart the Web Server service.
  
  3. Change the ports back to the original values and restart the
  Web Server service.

Problem conclusion

• After installation of Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual
  Environments, the liberty web server used by WebGUI will startup
  with --clean option.
