Error description

  • When running an IBM MQ Managed File Transfer Agent under a
    Windows Service, the following error is reported to stderr.log:
    
    BFGNV0054_UNABLE_TO_OPEN_FILE
    
    The log for the Windows Service has been created as a directory
    at:
    
    MQ_DATA_PATH\mqft\logs\MQMFT_CONFIGURATION\agents\AGENT_NAME\log
    s\service0.log
    
    The Windows Service logging information is instead written to
    the stdout.log file.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of IBM MQ Managed File Transfer running an Agent as a
    Windows Service.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Due to a programming error, the service0.log file was
    inadvertently created as a directory. When IBM MQ MFT later
    attempted to open the file in order to write Service logging
    information to it, it was unable to do so. Logging information
    for the service was instead logged to stdout.log.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected to ensure that the service log file
    is not created as a directory, allowing the service logging
    information to be logged to the service log as intended.
