Error description

• Virtual machine backups can fail with the following error even
  when using "testflag GLTEMPNAMECLEANUP".
  ANS4174E Full VM backup of VMware Virtual Machine
  'virtual machine name' failed with RC=45 mode=Incremental
  Forever - Incremental,
  target node name='IBM', data mover node name='IBM_DM'
  
  ANS1228E Sending of object 'Virtual Machine name' failed.
  ANS1907E An error occurred while trying to perform an object
  merge operation on the server.
  "testflag GLTEMPNAMECLEANUP" is suppose to cleanup orphanded
  group leader objects
  but fails on Linux datamovers only.

Local fix

• Contact Level 2 support to cleanup the orphaned objects
  manually.

  * Data Protection for VMware environments, the TSM Client is   *
  * also known as the data mover.                                *

Problem conclusion

• TSM Client now correctly removes incorrect group leader objects
  on Linux.
  

Temporary fix

• A fix for this problem is currently targeted for interim fix
  6.4.3.1.  Until the interim fix is actually available, this
  information is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
