    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * When a IBM Personal Communications emulator screen in Thai *
    * locale is printed to a PDF file, the Thai 0xFB font *
    * (character) is not aligned to center when composed with 0x75 *
    * or 0x66.                                                     *
    *                                                              *
    * The Thai 0xED font may overlap when composed with: 0x77CE, *
    * 0x77CF, 0x8ACE, 0x8ACF, 0x8CCE and 0x8CCF.                   *
    *                                                              *
    * The Thai 0x57 font may disappear when composed with: 0xCE, *
    * 0xCF or 0xDA.                                                *
    * The Thai 0xBF font may disappear when composed with: 0x77, *
    * 0x8A or 0x8C.                                                *
    * And the Thai x57 and x63 characters may overlap with lower *
    * vowel.                                                       *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In IBM Personal Communications, the character 0xFB in EBCDIC or
    0xEC in ISO-8859-11, also known as THANTHAKHAT or KARAN in Thai
    is a little higher than normal Thai up accent/vowel. This makes
    it a little uncomfortable to read.

    Character 0x57 in EBCDIC or 0xAD in ISO-8859-11, also known as
    YOYING in Thai may disappear while printing together with
    certain Thai characters, especially when composed with 0xCE,
    0xCF or 0xDA in EBCDIC.

    Character 0xBF in EBCDIC may disappear while printing together
    with certain Thai characters, especially when composed with
    0x77, 0x8A or 0x8C in EBCDIC.

    Character 0xED in EBCDIC overlaps while printing together with
    certain Thai characters, especially when composed with 0x77CE,
    0x77CF, 0x8ACE, 0x8ACF, 0x8CCE and 0x8CCF in EBCDIC. It may be
    difficult to distinguish whether there is 0xBF or not.

    The Characters 0x57 and 0x63 in EBCDIC may overlap while
    printing together with certain Thai vowels, especially when
    composed with Thai lower vowel. Their descent is not erased and
    overlaps with other Thai lower vowel.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSPD.DLL has been modified to handle the Thai character types
    correctly. Also, ETO_IGNORELANGUAGE option has been used to
    ensure that no special Operating System processing of the THAI
    characters are carried out.

    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.15 Refresh Pack.
