Error description

  • When VM backups are run in an environment with Site Recovery
Manager, backups of the SRM placeholder VM's are reported as
skipped, but at the end of the backup summary for the
placeholder VM a message is included that states the snapshot
will be removed. This message is erroneous and can be ignored as
there is no snapshot taken to remove.

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
Schedule log for the backups will report the SRM placeholder VM
being skipped when the schedule starts:

06/04/2015 10:31:21 ANS2398I The virtual machine 'recoveryVM' is
configured as a VMware Site Recovery Manager placeholder virtual
machine on the recovery site. As a result, the virtual machine
    will be skipped.

The backup summary when the placeholder VM is processed will
show it is skipped but also that the snapshot is being removed.
