Error description
The Tivoli Storage Manager Client wizard configuration for MS Cluster fails with the following message: "Current node does not own any cluster groups! Please exit the configuration and make sure the node owns a cluster group and relaunch the TSM Client." when the MS cluster status is ?Partial Online?. A MS Cluster can be in ?Partial Online? status when one of its resources is offline. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: The Tivoli Storage Manager Client wizard is not able to identify in a ?Partial Online? status situation if all the relevant resources for its configuration are available. It does not recognize group as eligible for backup when the last resource in the group has OFFLINE status. For example Cluster group SDIRPLL has the following resources (output from powershell command: Get-ClusterResource): <Catapulta Service> online <IP Address 10.48.73.29> offline <ComIRServer> offline <SDIRPLL> online <SDIRextBridge Service> offline <Nis Net Service> offline <LL> online <FileServer-(SDIRPLL)(LL)> online <WSGetaway> offline Group SDIRPLL has online disk resource <LL> and so the Tivoli Storage Manager Client should be able to create scheduler to back up this disk, but the wizard checks the status of the last resource "<WSGetaway>". Status of the <WSGetaway> is offline and it thinks that entire group is offline and skip group reporting the failure. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All Tivoli storage Manager Client V7 and V6 on Windows platforms Initial Impact: Low Additional Keywords: cluster wizard partial online group microsoft
