IT08991: ON WMQ V8 RUNNING STRMQBRK AS A SERVICE ALONG WITH THE QUEUE MANAGER START CAUSES AMQFQPUB PROCESS TO RESTART CONTINOUSLY

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The following sequence of error messages will be issued every 10
    seconds:
    
    AMQ5050: An essential WebSphere MQ process 147112 (amqfqpub.exe)
    cannot be found and is assumed to be terminated.
    
    AMQ5855: Queued Pub/Sub Daemon failed.
    
    Errors on Client side:
    com.ibm.msg.client.jms.DetailedJMSSecurityException: JMSWMQ0026:
    Failed to subscribe to topic 'dsa.test.system.business.topic'
    using MQSUB. There may have been a problem creating the
    subscription due to it being used by another message consumer.
    Make sure any message consumers using this subscription are
    closed before trying to create a new subscription under the same
    name. Please see the linked exception for more information.
    

Local fix

  • - Stop the queue manager
    - Delete the strmqbrk service
    - Restart the Queue Manager

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When strmqbrk as a service process the queue manager incorrectly
    treated this as an internal process type, this caused some
    internal records associated with the strmqbrk process to be
    overwritten by the amqfqpub process. Hence the end of the
    strmqbrk process was considered by the queue manager's execution
    controller to be the end of the amqfqpub process, leading to the
    repeated start and end of the amqfqpub process.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The process details of strmqbrk is no longer incorrectly handled
    as this type of internal process by the queue manager's
    execution controller.
