APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If you install the Backup Archive client while using the TSM
  Suite for Unified Recovery installer in modify mode and the
  Microsoft redistributable files have not already been installed,
  the machine will reboot without prompting the user.
  
  Example:
  A user may use the Suite installer to first install the VE
  package.  This does not install the Microsoft redistributable
  files.  Then if the user re-runs the Suite installer, they will
  be in modify mode allowing them to select and install the Backup
  Archive Client.
  
  If you do this, install the Backup Archive client while in
  modify mode, and the Microsoft redistributable files have not
  already been installed, the machine will reboot without
  prompting.
  

Local fix

• After the system reboot.  No further reboot is performed.

Problem conclusion

• The Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments: Data
  Protection for VMware installation will no longer reboot without
  prompting when installing the data mover via the "modify" option
  using the Unitifed Recovery Installer interface.
