Problem summary

  • Problem Description:
    Performance issue - Sterling Control
    Center falls behind on monitoring BPs with a large number of
    steps to search through for ProcessData elements due to the
    high volume of SQL queries being issued to the database.

    Users Affected:
    Customers who use Sterling B2B Integrator with Sterling Control
    Center

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:
    A code fix has been applied to provide an
    option for customers to configure the number of steps to
    look for ProcessData XML elements. Within the code, it looks
    for this option to be enabled and the threshold number of steps.
    It then saves the value extracted by applying the XPath from the
    specified number of steps. This significantly reduces the
    number of SQL queries that are issued to retrieve the info from
    the database server.

    Two properties have been added to enable and
    configure this feature:

    cccinterop.STOP_LOOKING_AFTER_N_STEPS=false
    cccinterop.NUM_STEPS_TO_LOOK_FOR_PROCESS_DATA=1

    You should override these values in your
    customer_overrides.properties file.  For example:

    noapp.cccinterop.STOP_LOOKING_AFTER_N_STEPS=true
    noapp.cccinterop.NUM_STEPS_TO_LOOK_FOR_PROCESS_DATA=10
