Error description

  • When displaying the RVERSION channel status property via DISPLAY
    CHSTATUS for a MQ 7.5 and 8.0 managed .Net Client, connecting to
    a MQ 7.1 or later Queue Manager the version of the remote MQ
    code identified by RVERSION is showing as (07100000).

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of MQ 7.5 and 8.0 managed .Net client applications
    attempting to find the RVERSION property of a channel via
    DISPLAY CHSTATUS on MQ 7.1 or later.
    
    
    Platforms affected:

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Managed .Net client did not pass the correct version down to the
    queue manager on connection, causing the queue manager's channel
    status to display the RVERSION as RVERSION(07100000).
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix delivered via this APAR changes the RVERSION but does
    not fully correct the issue. The RVERSION displayed by MQ in
    versions of 7.5 and 8.0 where this APAR is included shows:
    MQ v7.5 displays RVERSION(07500000)
    MQ v8.0 displays RVERSION(08000000)
    
    APAR IT23486 made further changes so that the Managed .Net
    client code now passes the maintenance level information too and
    so it is recommended that users review the details of that APAR
    in combination with this one.
