APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • User downloaded HOD 11.0.12 running on z/OS 2.1. Upon testing
user sat that the issue resolved by IBM's HOD Dev  in the past
with the SSLite group (HOD 11.0.6   does not terminate TN3270
connections). Issue has reoccurred in HOD 11.0.12. User skipped
HOD 11.0.11, but user knows that HOD 11.0.10 did not have the
issue with SSLite sessions.

JSSE sessions in HOD 11.0.12 seem to be working fine; it does
not exhibit this issue with "connections staying around until
the entire browser session with the HOD Desktop is closed" -
JSSE sessions end the connection as intended when the HOD
session is closed.

User understand that support for SSLite was scheduled to sunset
at the end of last year. If that occurred and this issue cannot
be worked due to SSLite being out of support, user will then
have to plan to change all of their  sessions to JSSE security.
User has not yet done that because of issues starting JSSE
sessions with client Oracle Java 8 JREs when JSSE was
introduced with HOD 11.0.9

Problem summary


    

  • User affected: All the HOD SSL session users who are SSlite for
secure connection. Whenever user connect to Host on secure
connection (using LUName or Workstation ID) ,first time it
connect ,after disconnecting the session and reconnection ,
Session does not connect.
This problem was happening because of regression in latest
sslite module which was integrated in 11.0.12.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This problem is resolved by integrating the SSlite module which
has the fix for reported issue. Fix will be available in next
Host On-Demand V11.0.13.
