Error description

  • When deleting an ACSLS library that is offline, the server will
crash if there are still volumes checked in.

Tivoli Storage Manager server version 6 and 7.

    Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable)

Local fix

  • Delete the library inventory from DB2 before deleting the
    library. Use the following steps:
    1. Halt the server
    2. Run DB2 commands
    db2 connect to tsmdb1
    db2 set schema tsmdb1
    db2 delete from mms_lib_inventory where libname='libnameincaps'

Replace libnameincaps with actual library name in uppercase
    letters.
    3. Start the server
    4. Delete the library with DELETE LIBRARY command.

Another way to avoid this problem is to run CHECKOUT LIBV
command to checkout the volumes before taking the library
    offline.
