Error description

  • A WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Embedded Agent
(for example, an agent running within IBM Integration Bus)
    publishes an XML notification message
containing the details of a completed transfer to a topic which
    has the naming convention:

     SYSTEM.FTE.NOTIFICATION/CompletedTransfers//#

However, in the case where the transfer was a file-to- message
transfer, the XML message shows the destination in the form of
    @ but tags it as
     rather than information.

For example, a Notification message was published for
a file-to-message transfer would contain an XML snippet
    such as that below:

        MY.QUEUE@MY.QMGR

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ File Transfer
Edition Embedded Agent running within an IBM Integration Bus
Execution Group who perform file-to-message transfers using this
    agent.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When a WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Embedded Agent, which
acted as the destination agent for a transfer, completed a
transfer, it created a Notification message that it published to
    the topic "SYSTEM.FTE.NOTIFICATION/CompletedTransfers//".

This publication included information about the destination item
for that transfer. In the case of file-to-file transfers, this
was the destination file name. For file-to-message transfers, it
was the name of the destination queue and the queue manger on
which it was defined in the form:

      @

For a file-to-file transfer, the destination file name was
enclosed by XMl tags, since the Notification publication was an
XML message. For a file-to-message transfer, the queue and queue
manager names should have been enclosed in XML elements,
however they were incorrectly enclosed in XML elements also.

The Embedded Agent would also publish a Notification message
when a transfer was cancelled. This Notification message was
also incorrect for file-to-message transfers, as described
    above.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Embedded Agent code has
been updated such that when it publishes a Notification message
for a file-to-message transfer, the destination item which is of
the form @, is now correctly enclosed in XML tags.

    For example:

        MY.QUEUE@MY.QMGR
        282373fa8237b77b3dd

The XML element may also contain various optional XML
attributes, as defined in the fteutils.xsd schema for the
    "queueType" complex XML element.
