APAR status

Error description

• During a Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Windows backup of
  a file system, some of the objects bind to the DEFAULT
  management class even though a different management class is
  specified via VSS Policy statements. Most of the objects bind
  to the correct management class defined in the VSS policy
  statement. However, some objects bind to the DEFAULT management
  class instead which can lead to data being stored into a
  different storage pool than the one intended.

  *                 Note 1: The Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)     *
  *                 Client is a prerequisite to using Tivoli     *
  *                 Storage FlashCopy Manager on Windows. In     *
  *                 FlashCopy Manager environments, the TSM      *
  *                 Client is also known as the FlashCopy        *
  *                 Manager VSS Requestor component. Until a     *
  *                 FlashCopy Manager packaged fix is            *
  *                 available, FlashCopy Manager customers       *
  *                 can install and use a fixed level of the     *
  *                 TSM Client as it provides equivalent         *
  *                 functionality in FlashCopy Manager           *
  *                 environments.                                *
