Error description
When products that extend Microsoft Cluster Service are used, the Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client might not be able to process the cluster disk resources. Backups of these cluster resources report that they are both not a local disk and not a cluster disk depending on which CLUSTERNODE setting being used, YES or NO. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: When a backup is run the client will report the following errors when attempting to backup these resources. When CLUSTERNODE YES and CLUSTERDISKONLY YES ANS1228E Sending of object '\\testsystem.ibm.com\o$' failed ANS1151E '\\testsystem.ibm.com\o$' is not a cluster disk. When CLUSTERNODE NO and CLUSTERDISKONLY NO ANS1228E Sending of object '\\testsystem.ibm.com\o$' failed ANS1668E The '\\testsystem.ibm.com\o$' is not a local disk. Third party products that extend Microsoft Cluster Service capabilities might change the disk cluster resource type name from "Physical Disk" to something else. Products such as "VisionSolutions DoubleTake Availability" will have cluster resource types such as "Geo Cluster" which will not be recognized by the Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client as a valid resource type to process. Due to a change in the way cluster resources are evaluated with the 6.3.0.0 and higher client code levels, the client will not recognize these resource type as cluster disks and will not back them up as such. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: Windows 6.3 6.4 7.1 Initial Impact: low Additional Keywords: TSM MSCS cluster 'geo cluster' 'Double Take'
