Error description
ISD may not be able to consistently manage ESXi managed endpoints (MEPS), running with IBM customized update 5.1 Update 1.This happens when the LSI provider, running as part of the Small-Footprint CIM Broker (SFCB) CIMOM subsystem, generates core dumps and causes part of the communications subsystem to crash. Impact: User will not be able to properly manage the ESXi end point under the given scenario.
Local fix
There is no usage change that will avoid this issue.
Problem summary
ESXi end points running with IBM customized update 5.1 Update 1 can lose communications with the ISD server. The LSI provider running as part of the SFCB CIMOM subsystem, may generate core dumps causing the subsystem to partially crash. As a result, most of the ISD operations against the ESXi end point will fail. For example, in these circumstances, inventory collection fails with an ATKSRV629E error message and an attempt to update the MEP would fail. The issue will be corrected in future ESXi IBM customized image. Platforms: MEPS with ESXi with IBM Customized version 5.1 Update 1, managed by ISD Versions: ESXi 5.1 Update 1
