APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Oracle queries with date formats other than YYYY-MM-DD
  HH24:MI:SS may fail with Invalid input error message.
  
  This also may not occur until the initial idle connection
  timeout has happened when a DataSource object is first brought
  up.
  

Local fix

• Use format DD-MON-YYYY
  
  In the same session run the following query just prior to the
  actual SQL execution. Alter Session Set
  NLS_DATE_FORMAT='YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS
  

Problem summary

• Oracle SQL query might fail with the error 'literal does not
  match format string ORA-06512' when VARCHAR is set to DATE.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix is available in 6.0.1.5 and 7.0.0.2.
