IT02398: RANDOM 403 ERRORS OCCUR WHEN USING THE FSM or SYSTEMS DIRECTOR GUI

Error description

  • Random 403 errors occur, when using the Flex System
    Manager (FSM) or IBM Systems Director (ISD) graphical user
    interface (GUI).
    
    Impact:
    Browser usage is interrupted while the Browser 403 message is
    displayed.  Once user clicks "OK" to dismiss the message, user
    can continue using the interface.  In cases where session
    timeout has been reached, closing the browser 403 message
    results in the login page to be displayed.
    

Local fix

  • There is no usage change that will avoid this issue.
    

Problem summary

  • Random 403 errors  may occur, when using the FSM/ISD GUI.
    This is most likely to happen when a session timeout happens
    while a screen refresh is in process.
    These errors can be ignored.
    The root cause of this issue has been identified and
    will be resolved in a future release.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • In order to decrease the frequency of these errors,
    a timeout value can be increased.
    
    Edit the file <install
    directory>/lwi/conf/overrides/usmi_settings.properties. If the
    value
    of com.ibm.pvc.webcontainer.http.sessionGlobalTimeout is 30,
    then change it to 60.
