APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Remove unused log4j-core-2.11.0.jar from specific web services
deployment.

Local fix

  • Remove the unused JAR.

Problem summary

  •  The jar file: log4j-core-2.11.0.jar was
inadvertently added to the Specific Web Services deployment
in 8.6 fix pack 1. This jar file is not used, so needs to be
deleted.

Problem conclusion

  •  This is fixed in Content Manager 8.7

Temporary fix

  •  Customers can delete this file directly from
their Web Services deployment as a solution until the fix is
applied. As this jar file is not used, deleting it directly
has no impact to web services. File may be found in locations
similar to these: /usr/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/
AppSrv02/installedApps/test001n1Cell01/cmwebsvc.ear/
CMBSpecificWebService.war/WEB-INF/lib/log4j-core-2.11.0.jar or
C:\ibm\WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv02\installedApps\
TestNode02Cell\cmwebsvc.ear\CMBSpecificWebService.war\WEB-INF\
lib\log4j-core-2.11.0.jar
