IO26986: EXCEPTION 'SYNTAX ERROR' IN PROGRAM USING JAVA API

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Client experience the following error in a java program using
  the CM EE 8.6.1 Java API to connect to our Content Manager 8.5.6
   on z/OS:
  
  Exception in thread "main"
  com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlSyntaxErrorException:
  [jcc][t4][10145][10897][4.22.29] Ungültiger Parameter 13:
  Parameterindex liegt außerhalb des gültigen Bereichs.
  ERRORCODE=-4461, SQLSTATE=42815
  
  This error doesn't occur with Content Manager EE Java API 8.5.6
  .
  

Local fix

• This exception that has the message DGL0303A: Ungültiger
  Parameter.: Component Type Identifier = -210 can be ignored. It
  will only appear in the dklog. This is caused during the query
  when it does some checking in cm8.6. This will not stop the
  query. The query will ignore this exception and complete
  successfully.
  

Problem summary

• Some query execution generated exceptions in API log file, but
  there is no impact to functionality.
  

Problem conclusion

• The exception was thrown when retrieving components with an
  invalid componentID ( <0 ). Those componentIDs are negative and
  were used internally by the query.  This happened during case
  insensitive attribute checking. There is no impact on
  functionality, but the exception needs to be prevented by
  excluding the negative componentID.
