Error description
A terminal Java JVM abended because core.jar was in upper case on the M: drive of the controller. The code used to create the preload list file for the JVM that contains core.jar (ADXJ2JAR.BLS) did not find core.jar so the preload JVM bundles did not include it. This was reported against core.jar but there may be other files that can create problems.
Local fix
Assuming the core.jar file is the correct file, rename it to another filename or extension then rename it back to core.jar (lowercase). For example, change CORE.JAR to CORE1.JAR then change CORE.JAR to core.jar.
Problem summary
Terminals are hanging at W008 after a V6R4 OS migration. The cause of the problem is a failure to recognize that the case of filenames on the M drive has changed from lower to upper case. This was introduced by APAR IO19121 which affected filename case handling on the F: drive.
Problem conclusion
The problem was solved by making filename matching on M: case insensitive again while maintaining case sensitive on the F: drive.
