APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • The client asked for the enhancement so that DDname=SERLOG
    would be opened for INPUT if ZERO=N is specified or defaulted.
    This would enable their DBAs to obtain the LOGREC data they
    require without being granted update access to the dataset via
    RACF, read access is acceptable to auditors.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Users with Read-Only access can now read dataset on SERLOG
    DD-name if ZERO=N specified or defaulted. For Read-Only access,
    an attempt to update dataset on SERLOG DD-name by specifying
    ZERO=Y will receive a RACF ABENDs913.
