Error description
A W065 E043 means "Error running program." This is related to the use of extensions and how their programs are killed. A warm boot may not kill the process and prevent usage of resources because they are already in use. . ADX_STLD:ADXTMxxx.LOG shows something like the following: CMD done : --- +01 mget:payload=c:\adx_spgm\vx_eospj.dat=f... CMD exec : --- +02 run: s::sysext:adxpldjv.386 -deploy jav... runProgram(17): s::sysext:adxpldjv.386 -deploy java <ADXXTRUN> umount: /opt/ibm/retail/vx4690/java: device is busy. <ADXXTRUN> (In some cases useful info about processes that use <ADXXTRUN> the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1)) <ADXXTRUN> mount: according to mtab /cdrive/vx_eospj.dat is already mounted on java as loop <ADXXTRUN> Error 8192 mounting JVM runProgram(17): s::sysext:adxpldjv.386 rc=8192 (0x2000) ** Program failure... CMD FAIL : --- +02 run: s::sysext:adxpldjv.386 -deploy jav... - rc=0x2B CMD - exec alldone: rc=0x2B . The same or similar umount error may be found in vx_tracefile.*.
Local fix
Cold boot the terminal.
Problem summary
Java6 application fails to load on a terminal. This is more likely to happen when extensions such as lotus expeditor are running and there's been an update to 4690 load files. Sometimes expeditor keeps the jvm files in use and they cannot be replaced during a warm boot. Typically, however you will not see the problem until the terminal is cold booted since some files required to load java got deleted and are not being refreshed.
Problem conclusion
Several things: We ensure programs that lock java files don't prevent it's replacement during an IPL. We handle the failure case properly if there is still a java replacement failure (trying again on the next IPL). And we also only replace java as needed (previously it was replaced when the other load files changed).
Temporary fix
