IO17857: CHANGES TO REBUILD JAVA 6 ON CONTROLLER

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A situation occured where the files used to install Java 6 in
the embedded OS were corrupted and we had no procedure to
rebuild Java6 outside of rebuilding the system from backup or
LAN disk rebuild.

  • Currently, there is no mechanism in place to force Java 6 to be
unpacked.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This functionality was actually added via APAR IO18682 so the
scope of this code change was to fix a minor issue with the
ADXNSZAL tool that prevented the new java trigger file
(ADX_SPGM:ADXPREJF.DAT) from being updated when the Java 6 file
changed (VX_EOSPJ.DAT).  This issue was resolved by adding a
rule to ADXNSZAL checkpoint was added that will look for
differences in the first 64 bytes of VX_EOSPJ.DAT.
