Error description
In DM 8.4.0 FP2 and later (up to DM 8.5) the following issue exists. When DM Desktop Client is launched by opening an Outlook mail attachment, created by an Outlook email notification, and an incorect password is entered, DM issues a message about the incorrect username/password, but the IE window hangs/becomes unresponsive/is inaccessible. The mouse cursor changes to an hourglass and the OK button fails to behave as expected. User may click outside of the IE window to stop the hang, or kill IE using Windows Task Manager. However, DM continues to attempt log in with the bad password, eventually causing a userID lockout.
Local fix
Problem summary

Problem conclusion
The fix is available in IBM Document Manager v8.5 Fix Pack 2.
