Error description

• Upgrading to DB2 Content Manager V8.4.0 and above failed, and
  the following error is logged in the cmfpconfig.log file:
  
  Exception: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-289, SQLSTATE=57011,
  SQLERRMC=ICMLOB32, DRIVER=3.50.152
  
  ERROR: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-289, SQLSTATE=57011,
  SQLERRMC=ICMLOB32, DRIVER=3.50.152
  Configuration program "cmcfgls" completed with exit code 129.
  

Local fix

• Manually create the following tablespaces before upgrade:
  CREATE REGULAR TABLESPACE ICMLOB32
  PAGESIZE 32 K MANAGED BY DATABASE
  USING (FILE 'ICMLOB32' 100M)
  AUTORESIZE YES MAXSIZE NONE
  BUFFERPOOL ICMLSMAINBP32
  ;
  CREATE LARGE TABLESPACE ICMLOBCOL04
  PAGESIZE 4 K MANAGED BY DATABASE
  USING (FILE 'ICMLOBCOL04' 10M)
  AUTORESIZE YES MAXSIZE NONE

Problem summary

• If the value of the DB2 configuration parameter DFT_EXTENT_SZ
  for the DB2 Content Manager library server database is set to be
  greater than 53, the error might occur during the upgrade to DB2
  Content Manager Version 8.4.0 and above.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is now fixed in IBM Content Manager Version 8.4.3.
