APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
From Outlook Inbox open an email into a new window (double click the e-mail). From the DM Menu bar choose add document, file in the DM add dialog and click OK. Adding an item to the library using this method causes memory and Virtual Memory to increase about 6MB per e-mail. Minimizing Outlook will release the Memory but will not release the Virtual Memory. Eventually this will cause resource problems on the client machine.
Local fix
Close Outlook to release the Memory and Virtual Memory.
Problem summary
Document Manager sometimes did not release allocated virtual memory after a user created and saved a Microsoft Outlook email In certain situations, when users created and saved Microsoft Outlook emails, Document Manager allocated virtual memory but did not release it when the process completed. Memory usage increased until performance was impacted. With the fix of this APAR, normal behavior is restored.
Problem conclusion
The fix is available in DB2 Document Manager v8.4.2 Fix Pack 4
