Tivoli Directory Server, Version 6.0.0.72-ISS-ITDS-IF0072
APAR status
Closed as new function.
Error description
The server has been enhanced to take advantage of proprietary AIX features aid in the detection and diagnosis of memory- related problems on AIX only. If the number of free paging-space pages drops below the "npswarn" threshold, AIX will send a SIGDANGER (kill -33) signal to all processes. The server has been enhanced to log receipt of the SIGDANGER signal in the ibmslapd.log (on AIX only): ... SIGDANGER: XXXX free page blocks remaining before SIGKILL In addition, the SIGUSR1 signal can now be used to log the amount of memory (data) currently allocated by the server to the ibmslapd.log (on AIX only): ... SIGUSR1: XXXX bytes allocated
Local fix
N/A
Problem summary
These enhancements depend on the psdanger() and mallinfo() subroutines which are unique to AIX, and so cannot be easily implemented on any other platform.
