APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• <1> MS Word 2000 electronic form can be added to DM without
  crashing; but if we set Property Exchange's update as automatic
  mode, when do Checkout and Checkout-launch with the MS Word 2000
  electronic form , MS word will crash.
  
  <2>The problem doesn't occur in the following scenario:
  <2.1> if the attached MS Word 2000 Electronic form is
  checked out/checkout-launched using MS Word 2003 or MS Word XP;
   <2.2> if you use MS Word 2003 or MS Word XP, not MS Word 2000
   <2.3> if you don't work with MS Word 2000 e-form docs
   <2.4> if you set Prompt as update mode of Property Exchange
   <2.5> if you remove Property Exchange from MS Word Integration.
  

Local fix

• set Prompt as update mode of Property Exchange
  

Problem summary

• Microsoft Word 2000 crashed when a user Checkout-Launched an
  electronic form that performed automatic property exchanges.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix is available in DB2 Document Manager V8.3 Fix Pack 6.
