APAR status

Error description

  • Errlog from VIOS report the following Error when a client
    initiate a request on Target Port who left SAN thru NPIV
    
    vfchost#  VIOS_VFC_HOST (ERNUM 0000 0102)
    
    The Reason is the request is failed by directory server
    The Link service Reject is : Unable to perform command
    request, Port Name not registered
    
    Errlog do not report the Target Port who Left SAN

Problem summary

  • A FC Name Server lookup failed during GID_PN request, returning
    an LS_RJT response, indicating the WWPN isnt registered. Error
    log lacks target port, unclear which WWPN caused failure.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Error logging includes the target port (WWPN) details, enabling
    clear identification of the specific GID_PN request that
    failed.
