IJ55576: ATTEMPTING TO LOAD ESM FILE INTO CICS EXPLORER FOR XTRAN / XCMD CLASS DEFINITIONS FAILS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When attempting to load the security data (SDD), a warning
  pop-up box is displayed:
  
  Warning: The CICS region used for SDD data capture had
  XTRAN=NO, but XTRAN=name was used to extract data in the ESM
  file
  
  A warning box is also displayed for XCMD.
  
  
  For XTRAN/XCMD the class definitions, if the profile name is
  **, we are not able to process the SDD.

Local fix

• If you edit the esm file to change ** to xxxx (for example) the
  import works.
  

Problem summary

• Attempting to load ESM files into CICS Explorer for XTRAN/XCMD
  class definitions fails.  The problem occurs when there is some
  data missing from the SDD file.  This meant that an SDD file was
  created with some resource types missing - data that described
  the data captured in the CICS region(s). The security editor
  then incorrectly reported this problem as resource types missing
   from the ESM file, when actually the data was missing from
   part of the SDD file.
  

Problem conclusion

• An update has been made so that when there is data missing from
  the SDD file, a clear error message is displayed detailing
  that the SDD file is incorrect.

  This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.46 (34.0.6) of
  the CICS Explorer.
