Error description

  • This APAR includes fixes to various defects identified in CICS
    Explorer 5.5.0.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Using CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 6.3 (due to
release in September 2025), when making a CMCI request which
contains a filter expression containing a double quote, an
    internal server error occurs.

    Security discovery issues
    - When loading an invalid SDD (Security Discovery Data) file,
the user is not given clear errors indicating that the SDD is
    invalid.
    - It is not possible to use F1 on the To-Do list to gain access
    to help support.

Problem conclusion

  • An update has been made to the way that CMCI requests are
escaped in order to correctly handle double quote characters
when using CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 6.3.

Various Security Discovery updates and fixes have been made:
    - The error handling when loading invalid SDD files has been
    improved upon.
    - F1 help support for the To-Do list is now available.
    - The ordering of the 'Individuals' and 'unresolved' pseudo
groups in the security discovery table has been updated to
ensure that 'unresolved' is always at the bottom of the table.
    - A filter has been added to the To-Do list to make it easier
to find items related to a specific resource, user or type of
    problem.
    - Improvements have been made when an application filter is
applied to the editor so that resources, including generic
    resources, are handled better.
    - Bugs in the export esm (External Security Manager) file
    functionality have been fixed.
    - The usability of the To-Do list view on smaller screens has
    been improved.
    - The 'show me' option on some To-Do list issues has been
    enhanced.
    - A new To-Do list issue has been added to help find member
lists with names generated by the security discovery editor.
    - Minor defects in the security discovery editor have been
    fixed.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.44 (33.0.15 and
    34.0.4) of the CICS Explorer.
