Error description

  • Using CICS Explorer version 5.5.41.202502251919, when loading a
set of extracted RACF information into CICS Explorer and then
attempting to load some discovery data captured on a region
(so that it can be merged into the existing configuration), I
was presented with a message: "An error occurred. The operation
    has been packed out".

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Only a generic error message is issued to a user when they
attempted to load an SDD (Security Discovery Data)
file that has been created by monitoring CICS regions that were
not using the same RACF definitions that had been loaded into
the security discovery editor. The user is not given the
reason as to why the file has been rejected.

Problem conclusion

  • When a user attempted to load an SDD (Security Discovery Data)
file that had been created by monitoring CICS regions that were
not using the same RACF definitions that had been loaded into
the security discovery editor, the error reporting did not
include the reason as to why the file had been rejected, a
generic error message was issued. An update has been made so
that the customer is now given the reason that the error
    occurred.

This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.42 (33.0.13) and
5.5.43 (34.0.3) of the CICS Explorer.
