APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Some time after an LPM validation
(not necessarily immediately after) commands on a VIOS
such as rmdev and vfcmap hang.
Reboot required to recover.

Local fix

  • Reboot of the VIOS clears the hang.

Problem summary

  • rmdev of vfchost adapter might hang

Problem conclusion

  • validation process termination code is modified to free up
validation command resources properly
