Problem summary
A defect in OpenJ9 prevents a generated lambda class from accessing private members of its host class after the host class has been redefined/transformed by an agent. The Error will look similar to this: java.lang.IllegalAccessError: Class com/ibm/example/ProblematicClass$$Lambda$56/0x00000000e03b8450 illegally accessing "private" member of class The stack trace will vary depending on the application code. Problem conclusion
OpenJ9 has been updated to ensure that lambda classes can access private members of their host classes even after the host class has been redefined/transformed .
