APAR status

Error description

  • MAXIMO ALLOWS REVISED RELEASE POS TO BE APPROVED WHEN TOTAL COST
    EXCEEDS THE MAAXIMUM RELEASE COST
    
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    
    1. Go to Purchase Contracts application and create a new
    Contract:
    
     a. Vendor: A0001
     b. Maximum Release Amount: 2000000
    2. Go to the Properties tab and make sure "Create Released?" is
    checked and "Can Exceed Amount?" is unchecked.
    3. Save the record.
    
    4. Under More Actions, click on Authorize Sites.
    
    5. Authorize the BEDFORD site.
    
    6. Change its status to APPR
    
    7. Under More Actions, click on Create Release PO
    8. Populate the PO number and click OK.
    
    9. Open the PO created on the previous step.
    10. Go to PO Lines and add a new row:
     a. Line: 1
     b. Line Type: Material
     c. Unit Cost: 1280.00
     d. Location: ADDR2001
    11. Save record and leave it on WAPPR status.
    
    12. Go back to Contract created on step 1.
    
    13. Under More Actions, click on Revise PO.
    
    14. Add a description and click OK.
    
    15. Change the Maximum Release Amount to 1000
    16. Save the record.
    
    17. Under More Actions, click on View Release Costs.
    18. Notice that the PO created on step 7 is visible here and the
    total cost is 1280.
    19. Approve the Contract revision.
    
    20. Open the PO created on step 7.
    
    21. Change its status and try to approve it.
    
    
    RESULTS:
    
    PO is approved and no error is thrown. When checking the Release
    Costs once again on the Purchase Contract, it is possible to
    notice that the Amount Remaining is now is -280.00
    
    EXPECTED RESULTS:
    
    PO should not be approved since the cost is greater than the
    Maximum Release Cost, and the following errors should be
    displayed:
    
    BMXAA3279E - Could not change PO XXX status to APPR.
    BMXAA3231E - The purchase order cannot be approved. The cost of
    the release PO exceeds the maximum amount of 1,280.00 for a
    single release by 280.00.
