APAR status

Local fix

  • Place IBMJCE ahead of IBMJCEPlus and IBMJCEPlusFIPS

Problem summary

  • IBMJCEPlus provider fails in RSAPSS during signature operations
resulting in java cores.

The problem occurred due to how the digest used by RSAPSS was
initialized and reset during RSAPSS Signature generation.

Problem conclusion

  • The JVM has been updated so that java coresdo not occur during
signature generation and verification for RSAPSS.

The affected files:  ibmjceplus.jar and native libraries
(libjgskit.so and jgskit.dll)

The associated Java Security GIT issues: 506
.
The associated RTC problem report is: 148606
.
The Java 8 build dates are:

FIPS140-2 - Build-Date: 20230130
FIPS140-3 - Build-Date: 20230125
.
The fixes were delivered for: Java 8.0 SR8
