Error description

  • This APAR includes fixes to various defects identified in CICS
    Explorer 5.5.0.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • - JCICS and JCICSX Javadoc is not at the latest relevant level.
    - Running CICS Explorer on RHEL 8.6 and connecting to a single
backend CICS region, when a region is selected and right clicked
to add a new security request recording the box that is
displayed has sub tabs for the different origins. All of the
sub tabs incorrectly display as being empty except for the IPIC
    tab.
    .
    - CICS Explorer does not adhere to the same resource install
    ordering constraints as CPSM.
    - When adding an OSGi project to a CICS Bundle manifest, invalid
    OSGi projects are not ignored.
    .
    - Some ICU4J dependencies need updating.
    - Requests for a CMAS system dump without an ASID fail.
    - The File Path attribute in the Feature Toggles table does not
    have a hyperlink hint.
    - CICS Explorer does not install correctly on Eclipse 2022-06
    and future versions.
    - When a user does not have the IBM CICS SDK for Java EE,
Jakarta EE and Liberty installed and tries to export a project
that requires it, an appropriate error message is not displayed.

Problem conclusion

  • - JCICS and JCICSX Javadoc is updated to the latest relevant
    level.
    - The Add Security Recording Request dialog is updated to show
    all tabs correctly on Linux.
    - The resource definition installation order is updated to
better match the CPSM ordering constraints.
    - Explorer updated to ignore invalid OSGi projects in the
workspace when adding an OSGi project to a CICS Bundle manifest.
    - Some ICU4J dependencies are updated to use java.text.
    - Requests for a CMAS system dump without an ASID are now
    honoured correctly.
    - The File Path attribute in the Feature Toggles table is
updated to include hyperlink to the zFS location set.
    - CICS Explorer is updated to install correctly on Eclipse
2022-06 (not currently a supported environment) and future
    versions.
    - Error messages are updated in the case that a user does not
have the IBM CICS SDK for Java EE, Jakarta EE and Liberty
installed and tries to export a project that requires it.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.24 of the CICS
    Explorer.
