APAR status

Error description

  • secldapclntd may core dump due to memory corruption. The
    exact location of the core dump may vary, but likely
     the top of the stack would involve malloc-related
    functions like malloc_y, free_y, rightmost, leftmost,
    etc, similar to this:

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The AIX LDAP client may allocate a few bytes more than
    necessary when receiving certain user attributes, but there is
    no known impact caused by this.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The AIX LDAP client now allocates only the memory required.
