Error description

  • A connect from CICS configuration manager plugin
fails with message
An internal error occurred during: "Connect to CICS SM".

Problem summary

  • When attempting to connect to a CICS Configuration Manager 5.4
Server from the CICS Configuration Manager 5.4 plug-in an
internal error occurs: "Connect to CICS SM".
sun/misc/BASE64Encoder.  This is because the Base64Encoder class
is no longer shipped in the JRE that is bundled as part of CICS
Explorer for Aqua 3.2.

Problem conclusion

  • The CICS Configuration Manager 5.4 plug-in has been updated to
use org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.

This fix will be made available in Version 5.4.0.11 of the CICS
Configuration Manager plug-in for CICS Explorer.
