Error description

  • PROBLEM:
I am utilizing Tivoli software "Migration Use Cases with the
Migration Manager Version 7.5" document for migration manager
examples and currently on Chapter 7 - Migrating escalations and
automation scripts. This chapter uses three Migration Groups -
    BPM, Resources, and System.

The problem is in the Resources Migration Group which has
migration objects of DMPERSON and DMPERSONGROUP.

I am getting an error on the deployment of the package around
the DMPERSONGROUP object (BMXAA5736E - Duplicate sequences are
not allowed.). I understand what the error means; is there a
way to define a package and distribute & deploy that would
completely overwrite and update the persongroup object on the
Target system, thus preventing errors with the assignment
    sequence?

    PERFORMANCE ISSUE:
    No

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1- Create a Migration Group called PERSONGROUP with Migration
    Object DMPERSONGROUP.
2- In Migration Manager, create a SNAPSHOT package using
    Replace. Add PERSONGROUP.
3- In source, modify the CAB person group to add two alternates
    for KAZMIER:
    a- WILSON with Sequence 10
    b- MILLER with Sequence 20
    4- Migrate to target.
5- In source, modify KAZMIER's alternates as follows:
    a- ROGERS with Sequence 10
    b- MILLER with Sequence 20
    c- WILSON with Sequence 30
6- Attempt to migrate to target.

    It fails with:
    psdi.util.MXApplicationException: BMXAA5736E - Duplicate
    sequences are not allowed.
    at
    psdi.app.persongroup.FldAQSeq.checkGroupSeq(FldAQSeq.java:122)

    CURRENT ERRONEOUS RESULT:
    Duplicate sequences are not allowed.

    EXPECTED RESULT:
Be able to use the migration manager without issue
