APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When connected to a single CICS region (SMSS) via CMCI, using
the SM Administration perspective, various vies will return
    messages such as:

IZE0106E Connect failed with error "Not Found" (connectionName)

The Error Log shows messages such as:

CNX0624E: Get Managed Region from "regionName" failed
CNX0220E A connection error has occurred: Not Found

CNX0624E: Get Active Workload Target Statistic from "region"
    failed
CNX0221W Resource type 'Active Workload Target Statistic'
    (WLMATARG) unsupported

These messages are to be expected given the Explorer client is
connected to a single CICS region as oppose to a CICSPlex,
however these messages do not give a clear indication that is
    the reason for the error.

Problem summary

  • When connected to a single CICS region (SMSS) via CMCI, using
the SM Administration perspective, and the user requests the MAS
table, CICS Explorer contacts the server and sees a variety of
error messages around tables being unsupported, or a get failing
    .

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Explorer has been updated so that when the user requests
the MAS table on an SMSS connection, CICS Explorer does not
contact the server and either returns "No Context" (if the
context is never valid for that resource) or "This resource is
not available" (if the context is appropriate but the resource
    is not available on SMSS).
    .
In SMCICSConnection.checkOperation, a small number of resources
were listed as being permanently unavailable (platform,
batchrep, CSYSGRP, WLMSPEC), the code has now been updated to
mark all CPSM Manager, CPSM Config, and CPSM Config Def
    resources as being permanently unavailable.
    .
This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.19 of the CICS
    Explorer.
