APAR status

Error description

  • When compiling gpfs.gplbin rpm packages on RHEL8 for
    multiple kernel versions, installing them at the same time
    might fail due to conflicting build ids in the packages.
    

Local fix

  • Remove the installed
    gpfs.gplbin package before installing the new one.

    Benefits of the solution:
    gpfs.gplbin packages can be concurrently installed on
    RHEL8 for multiple kernel versions, which can simplify
    kernel upgrades while using Spectrum Scale.
    
    Work around:
    Remove the installed
    gpfs.gplbin package before installing the new one.
