APAR status

Error description

  • Description:
FC Adapter output statistics (outreqs/outbytes) as
reported
by "fcstat -client"/"topas"/"nmon" can show a "0" or
"near-zero" value and the actual counters can be
aggregated into input statistics (inreqs/inbytes).

The incorrect output will be seen on a physical fibre
adapter on a VIO server, where the physical adapter
serves
as a backing device for virtual/NPIV adapters on client
LPARs.

Problem summary

  • Tools like fcstat nmon shows wrong statistics for the physical
adapter when running IO from NPIV client.  It shows outreqs,
outbytes stats count added to inreqs, inbytes.

Problem conclusion

  • Code fixed to correct wrong flags set in IO buffer.
