APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • While running cldare in LANG=Ja_JP, the customer got the
below error (the line number will vary and the 8
character
number is a PID which will vary):

/usr/es/sbin/cluster/utilities/cldare: line 9057:
15008034: Resources lost(coredump)

It works fine with LANG=C.

Local fix

  • Set "export LANG=C" before the cldare.

Problem summary

  • When we run the cl_cbm_list in japanese environment , it seems
that the Python does not support IBM-943 locale: #
/usr/es/sbin/cluster/utilities/cl_cbm_list Fatal Python error:
initfsencoding: Unable to get the locale encoding LookupError:
unknown encoding: IBM-943 Current thread 0x0000000000000001
(most recent call first): IOT/Abort trap(coredump)

Problem conclusion

  • Added LANG=C before calling cl_cbm_list during verify & sync
operation

Temporary fix

  • Set "export LANG=C" before calling verify & sync operation
