IJ30536: TBSM CUSTOM CHANGES IN TBSM POLICIES DO NOT CARRY OVER WHEN FIX PACK APPLIED

Error description

  • It seems all of the current TBSM Fix Packs will perform a
    redeployment of the TBSM specific project. This is being done,
    to pickup any of the latest code changes but, neglects to
    account for customization (especially customization that is
    performed after the initial install). If the backup information
    was not initially specified when TBSM was first installed, then
    the installer does not have a record of it and therefore, will
    not update during an FP upgrade (this is specifically for the
    Datasources). As for the policies, it seems it was not expected
    that the TBSM specific policies (that ship with the product)
    would be customized. We'll need to add logic to the installer
    process to account for this deficiency. We will also need to
    provide a way to backup this specific data, which is not taking
    place at the moment (and we are dependent on what is backed up
    by Impact or the Client).

      The TBSM specific polices are always replaced with newer
    versions that come with the Fix Pack being applied. The TBSM Fix
    Pack does not backup the customized polices and depends on the
    Impact Fix Packup update installer to perform those backups.
    However, the Impact Fix Pack may not be applied just prior to
    the TBSM update, which means that updates to those policies that
    are made between the Impact and the TBSM updates would be lost.
