APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The customer makes a topology change (a new nodename for
example).  The customer runs "clmgr sync cluster" to
synchronize the change, but the command fails with this
message --
cldare: Error detected during synchronization.

If the Verify and Synchronize is done by SMIT, it works.

Local fix

  • Use SMIT to run cluster verification and synchronization.

Problem summary

  • After changing the host name, verifiy and sync
operation using clmgr is failing with below error: cldare: Error
 detected during synchronization.

Problem conclusion

  • When any topology changes made to cluster, added few checks and
updating CAA cluster before performing sync operation to avoid
failure in verify and sync operation using clmgr

Temporary fix

  • Perform the verify and sync operation
using below SMIT screen.
smitty hacmp->Cluster Nodes and Networks->Verify and Synchronize
