Error description

  • When a constraint line is removed that connects two task and
critcal path method (CPM) is run the placement of one of the
    task is incorrect.
    1. Create a work order with 2 child work order, for the child
work orders add 3 task and add constraints from 10 to 20 and 20
to 30. Add a craft for each line, add the other needed
    information and save.
    2. Create a new Graphical Scheduler record and check the more
information tab to confirm that the preserve scheduled start
dates is checked. Add the parent work order and this will bring
in the children work orders as well as the task and all of its
    dependencies.
    3. On the Graphical View, remove the dependency between Task 10
and Task 20 under the first child work order, right click,
    delete constraint.
    4. Move the Start Date of Task 20 under the first child
work order so it does not begin immediately after task 10.
    5. Run CPM for All Rows. The second child work order moved to
beginning of first child work order and task 20
    stayed where it was moved.
    6. Repeat these steps and delete the constraint between Task
10 and Task 20 under the second child work order.
    7. Move the Start Date of Task 20 under the second child
work order so that it doesn't begin when task 10 ends.
    8. Run CPM on all Rows. Instead of preserving the Start
Date of Task 20 under the second
child work order, it moves the Start Date to align with the
Start Date of the Child Work Order.
This is inconsistent with the behavior that I performed for the
first child work order and not
what was expected. The Start Date of Task 20 should have been
    preserved since there were no
constraints and that checkbox was turned for the schedule.
